UAWD ConCon Strategy Roundtable: Winning Divestment through a Vision of Class Struggle

Navruz Baum, Andrew Bergman, Jeremy Bunyaner, Nevena Pilipović-Wengler, Shelly Pires, Margie Thornton July 3, 2026July 3, 2026

The six leaders of UAWD’s team at the 2026 UAW Constitutional Convention discuss the class-struggle strategy that enabled UAWD to lead the effort to divest the UAW from Israel bonds. Standing on the shoulders of decades of Palestine solidarity organizing, the win was made possible through the past year of organizing Local UAWD Chapters grounded in shop-floor struggle and the development of a UAWD ConCon program, which featured resolutions to enable rank-and-file militancy to fight layoffs, fight ICE, and in support of Palestine.

Fighting for a Class Struggle UAW at the 2026 ConCon: Introducing UAWD’s Convention Program

    UAWD Steering Committee March 13, 2026July 3, 2026

The UAWD Steering Committee shares a political analysis of the 2022 Constitutional Convention, our lessons learned in the ensuing years of organizing within the UAW, and UAWD’s membership-approved program for the 2026 ConCon. UAWD is encouraging UAW members across the country to bring the program to their locals to show their coworkers how we can chart a new path of class struggle unionism beyond the confines of the Convention floor in June.

  • A photo shows about twenty ICE agents in the forefront, with more in the background, dressed in army garb and holding weapons, and with the majority having their faces masked, standing along a neighborhood street and facing off a group of community members wearing winter coats and hats. About 10 feet separates the two groups. The ICE agents in the forefront are standing on a bike lane. Snow covers the street and the yards and roofs of the houses.

UAW Local 2325 Commits to a Strike Vote to Fight ICE—What Can Other Locals Do?

    Navruz Baum, Andrew Bergman February 15, 2026May 5, 2026

In the wake of mass anti-ICE mobilization in Minneapolis, UAWD members in Local 2325 have organized for a strike authorization vote to prepare for mass, democratic, labor action. Members in other locals and unions can use that same blueprint to build towards the broad-based working-class power required to defeat ICE.
