UAW members from across sectors came together for UAWD’s Class Struggle Unionism 101 Training, sharing concrete tactics and examples of how they’ve been used to build power on the shop floor, escalate fights, and take on the bosses and capitalist class.
In the wake of mass anti-ICE mobilization in Minneapolis, UAWD members in Local 2325 have organized for a strike authorization vote to prepare for mass, democratic, labor action. Members in other locals and unions can use that same blueprint to build towards the broad-based working-class power required to defeat ICE.
The success of sectoral bargaining and strikes across UAW locals in legal services in New York City shows what workers stand to gain from sector-wide coordination and rank-and-file militancy.
