ABOUT DAILY STRUGGLE
Daily Struggle is a publication of Unite All Workers for Democracy (UAWD), a grassroots movement of rank-and-file UAW members, united in our vision of class struggle unionism and fighting to build a militant, democratic UAW.
What Is Daily Struggle?
Following our Charter, which was adopted by the UAWD membership in June 2025, the publication is edited and directed by our Editorial Board, which is democratically overseen and directed by the UAWD membership. Daily Struggle is published in print quarterly and the website is updated weekly, subscribe and request print copies to distribute at your shop here.
The publication features interviews with workers and rank-and-file leaders, chronicles of militant shop floor struggles, analysis of the broader economic and political situation of the US working class, and contributions from UAW members across sectors. All of our articles are tagged by one or more of the five values of the UAWD Member Platform that they are grounded in: Worker Control, Militancy, Working Class Solidarity, Democracy, and Political Independence.
Why Did We Found Daily Struggle?
We launched Daily Struggle to provide workers a platform to express ourselves, a publication by and for UAW members. The publication champions a rank-and-file-led class struggle movement in the UAW that will fight for the entire global working class, against the business unionism prevalent in the bureaucratic leadership of American labor unions. According to our Charter, Daily Struggle has the following purpose:
- To raise awareness of the necessity for class struggle and its impact on workers;
- To provide UAW members with political education about class struggle unionism and the principles contained in the UAWD Member Platform;
- To foster solidarity among UAW members;
- To promote a member-led, transparent, democratic, and militant union culture.
Daily Struggle is an independent publication. It is not paid for or supported by the UAW, any other union, or any employer.
